Dr. Blalock has been an artist all her life, her eye and skills developing organically since the day she first had a camera put in her hand. Before graduating high school, Nicole participated yearly in county and state photography competitions and learned the basics of self-developing film and prints. Today, she continues to photograph cultures and people when she travels and experiment with new artistic modes. Her works span a range of imaging techniques, textual inquiry, and subjects. Most of the art she creates is not for public consumption, as she focuses inward on the creative process.
